The LIAC-BBA has a Higher Arbitration Council composed of 6 members. The Higher Arbitration Council is appointed by the President of the Beirut Bar Association and confirmed by the Administrative Committee for a period of three years.
The day-to-day arbitration work is carried out by the Secretariat, while the Higher Arbitration Council makes decisions in accordance with the LIAC-BBA rules. For example, this may relate to the jurisdiction of the LIAC-BBA, the appointment of arbitrators, challenge to arbitrators or a decision on the costs of the arbitration.
